This
site aims to give New Zealand school students a taste of life in
Rwanda. Each weekday during March 2000,
students were able to ask questions, read regular updates, send
messages and read information about the lives of Rwandan children.
They heard from Rwandan children whose parents have died, and who
must bring up younger siblings on their own, and followed World
Vision Rwanda development workers through a typical month of their
work.
Rwandan
workers kept New Zealand schools up to date with regular stories
on the internet site, a weekly fax message, and a weekly audioconference.
Students could also ask them questions by using an e-mail form on
the internet site.
Students
in registered schools could even communicate directly with some
of the Rwandan child families, via an interpreter.
